Conceptual design
Conceptual design is the initial phase of the design process in which the overall vision, ideas, and creative concepts for a landscape project are developed. It involves brainstorming, exploration, and the generation of ideas to establish the foundation upon which the rest of the design will be built. The goal of conceptual design is to capture the essence of the project, its desired mood, functionality, and aesthetic character. It serves as the foundation for further development and refinement in subsequent design phases
Masterplanning
A landscape masterplan is a comprehensive plan that outlines the design of a landscape. It serves as a guiding framework for the overall layout, features, functions and aesthetic qualities of the landscape whether it’s a park, town centre, campus, residential community, nature reserve or any other type of outdoor space.
Detailed design
This is the design phase that follows conceptual design or masterplanning. In this phase, the ideas and concepts are further refined and translated into detailed plans, drawings, and specifications that provide comprehensive guidance for construction and implementation. The goal is to transform the conceptual vision into a practical and actionable design that contractors can follow.
Contract administration
This is the process of overseeing and managing the implementation of a landscape project in accordance with the terms and specifications outlined in the contract between the client and the landscape contractor. This phase of the project occurs after the design and planning stages have been completed, and construction or installation work is underway. As contract administrators we ensure that the design intent is realised on-site and that the final landscape meets the desired quality, functionality, and aesthetic standards outlined in the contract and design documents.
Landscape management plans
A landscape management plan is a document that outlines the strategies, guidelines, and practices for the ongoing maintenance, care, and stewardship of a landscape or outdoor space. It serves as a roadmap for ensuring that the landscape remains healthy, functional, and visually appealing over time. Landscape management plans serve as a guide for property owners, managers, maintenance teams, and other stakeholders involved in the upkeep of the area. A well-developed landscape management plan contributes to the long-term success and sustainability of a landscape, ensuring that it remains vibrant, functional, and aesthetically pleasing for years to come.
Landscape and visual impact assessment (LVIA)
A Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment (LVIA) is a comprehensive process used to evaluate and analyse the potential effects of a proposed development or project on the surrounding landscape and visual environment. The goal of an LVIA is to identify and assess the potential impacts on the aesthetic quality and character of the landscape, as well as the visual experience of people within and outside the setting. The assessment helps decision-makers and project stakeholders make informed choices that balance development needs with the preservation and enhancement of the landscape and visual environment.
Planning applications
We can provide the landscape information needed for all types of planning applications (outline, full, reserved matters etc). We are also experts at providing the detailed information necessary to discharge planning conditions. This is process of fulfilling or meeting specific conditions that have been attached to a planning permission grated by a local planning authority. Planning conditions are requirements that must be satisfied before a development can proceed to a certain phase. This ensures that certain criteria are met to mitigate potential impacts and ensure that the development aligns with local policies and regulations.
